Three Games in One!

Just released! Two new games for Matchicon! Matchicon is now a collection of puzzle games.

Download for FREE today! A short description of each game can be found here, but full description of game play and rules can be found in the app help.

Objective of the Dial Game

The objective of the Dial Game is to position all the dials on the gameboard so that all icons match all adjacent dials. See the following example.

In the example above, the green boxes highlight the dials and icons that match. The red box highlights the dials and icons that do not match. The solution would be to rotate the upper right dial so the blue square matches the blue square in the bottom right dial.

The game is scored like golf. That is, the primary goal is to solve the game board with the fewest moves. The game is also timed. A secondary goal is to solve the game board as quickly as possible.

Objective of the Square Game

The objective of Square Game in Matchicon is to match all the game pieces on the gameboard while scoring as many points as you can. See the following example.

In the example above, the two game pieces in position for a match are the top two hollow square icons. You match two game pieces by placing one on top of the other.

The only icons that can be moved are the ones at the top of the columns. In other words, if another game piece is on top of the one you want to move, you need to move the one that is in the way to another open space on the game board.

Objective of the Triangle Game

The objective of Triangle Game in Matchicon is to match the icons hidden behind the game pieces while avoiding the bombs scattered throughout the gameboard. See the following example.

You can display two icons at a time. If they do not match, as shown in the sample, the icons will be hidden again. Once you match two game pieces, they are removed from the gameboard.

In the center of six adjoining triangular shaped game pieces is a clue. This clue represents the number of bombs in the group of six game pieces. In the example above, there is one bomb hidden in the six adjoining game pieces. If you tap a game piece that is a bomb, you lose the game.

The game is scored like golf. That is, the primary goal is to solve the game board with the fewest moves. The game is also timed. A secondary goal is to solve the game board as quickly as possible.

Avoiding Bombs

The clues in the center of six triangles represent the number of bombs in the adjoining pieces. The key is to use clues from nearby clues that have overlapping game pieces. The graphic below shows how to infer the location of a bomb using multiple clues in close proximity to one another.
